Learn basic principles of animation (squash and stretch, timing and motion, anticipation, staging, follow-through, slow in and out, arcs, etc.) and complete a bouncing ball flip book animation by the end of the week. Leave with a guidebook of helpful apps, programs, possible job titles, resources and exercises for young animators ( included in “so you wanna be an animator?!” brochure made by me for students to keep)
• Name and describe the principles of animation and how animators use them
• complete short animation exercises that demonstrate those principles from start to finish (bouncing ball animation, penny animation, Pixilation, etc)
• know what tools of the trade animators use, the jobs they have, and learn about the world of animation.
