Anime is a Japanese animation style that features colorful, stylistically drawn, action-oriented figures. Students will learn to adopt this vibrant style while giving their own style to it.
• Learn brief anime history through interactive talks, and understand how the American animation pipeline differs from the Japanese pipeline.
• Learn through daily interactive exercises in which we will break down how hair, bodies, and facial features are often stylized and analyze how that may be incorporated into their styles and aesthetic tastes. (will spend separate days focusing on drawing features, expressions, action poses, and finding ways to incorporate the anime style into your style.)
• Watch examples of iconic anime styles with discussions on character design and motion
