About Us & General Camp Information
Get inspired and discover your hidden passions this summer at SMArtSummer! A six-week program for students entering first through twelfth grades, it offers a more dynamic, more rewarding instructional experience than a typical summer camp. Instead of arts and crafts, kids enjoy Arts + the Sciences that fuses together creative skills, processes and academic disciplines.

NEW THIS YEAR! If you wish to pack a lunch or send snacks in with your student please be aware that some of our students have nut allergies so please do send items that do not contain nuts. It would be a good idea, too, to write the student’s name on their lunch – at some point, brown bags and lunch boxes can begin to all look alike.
You must escort your child into the front doors at Cab Calloway School of the Arts / Wilmington Charter School and sign them in every morning. You will also need to come in to sign your child out in the afternoon. When picking up your child, please be sure to designate in writing who may pick them up if you are not available.
For Before/After Camp, we do have Computers and some craft activities. Alternately, your student might like to bring some entertainment of their own – perhaps a book or game. When picking up your child, please be sure to designate in writing who may pick them up if you are not available.
* We ask that you do not send your child to camp with any electronics (phone, game, etc). If you do choose to send you child to camp with one, please remember we are NOT responsible for loss of such devices. If your child needs to call you they are welcome to use our office phone.
